Bedse or Bedsa Caves is situated in the Mawal area, Pune District which is very close to Lonavala. Bedse caves is relatively a less visited beauty of history and Mughal era. The trilogy of the caves (Karla – Bhaje – Bedse) are a well-known fact by the localites. You can explore the caves irrespective of whether you are from Mumbai or Pune. It is desirable to reach this monument in the morning to enjoy the breeze and a 45 minute climb from the foot of the hill.
ROUTE TO REACH THE CAVES
Travel by car/bus from Mumbai or Pune
Route 1
Reach Chadani Chowk via Old Mumbai-Pune highway (Do not take left turn to join express way)
From Kamshet village get to the main Chowk and take left
Cross Expressway from underground tunnel
Reach Bedse village
Take right from Bedse village
Drive for 1.5 km to reach at the base of the hill
Route 2
Another route is get from Pune to Chadani Chowk
Head from Pirangut to Paud. Take a right at Paud after Bus stand (Do not take Hadashi temple route)
Reach Javan to Pavananagar village
Take right for Bedse village
Drive for 1.5 km to reach the hill
